My focus this year is nature based. Looking more deeply into beachscapes and bodies of water. The ocean and sea life within it has always been a special part of me close to my heart. I was born in South Africa right next to the sea and so this is where my passion began and has remained with me throughout my life so far.
I wanted to capture the serenity and beauty in my work as I feel when surrounded by nature, using real objects to obtain the sense of paradise. My work is sculptural in 3D and 2D form using epoxy resin as my main medium. Resin is a delicate form to work with but gives off the perfect appearance to replicate water in my work as it is crystal clear and reflects light the way water does. I also do notan printing, ceramic sculptures and watercolour and acrylic paintings.
