The perception of beauty is often seen as having perfect skin, a flat stomach, being flawless, but in reality nobody is perfect and we all have flaws. I believe that there is beauty in everything and that the media's perception of beauty should be challenged and that scars, stretch marks, flaws shouldn't be judged as ugly that it's something we all have so why shouldn't they be embraced? This has been my theme for my final year.

I am focusing on portraiture and life drawing and I am influenced by Jenny Saville; an artist that I was only introduced to this year, which is really helping me break out of my 'perfectionist' art style and move into a more expressive style. Previously I worked primarily in digital media but this year I have been combining this with a more experimental mixed media approach. I am working on 2D mixed media panels and artists books which reflect my theme.
